Design Preservation Models

They say: "Design Preservation Models creates architectural authenticity ..... with N, HO and O scale model building kits and Modular Systems.  Anyone can model strikingly realistic cities, towns and village scenes. Cities  can be built one structure at a time from our single building kits. Create a  building of any size, shape and height using our interchangeable styrene Modular  System wall sections. Build hotels, factories, entertainment districts, train  depots, mom and pop shops, service stations, or giant department stores."
Prototypes are determinedly American.    The site is extensively  illustrated.

Muswell Models

{If you are reading this at Muswell Models we would love to have a better image to show MB readers}

http://www.muswellmodels.co.uk

They say: "Muswell Models offers a growing range of finely detailed  buildings and architectural accessories in OO/4mm and N/2mm scales.  The  buildings are cast in resin, with the OO/4mm scale models coming in kit  form with etched brass windows and doors, which are available  separately for scratch-builders  { sounds interesting} and the N/2mm models being either hollow  cast with windows being printed on transparent plastic sheeting or in the  case of low-relief buildings and garages, solid one piece castings.

Gibsons "Builder at Home"

A small range of 1/50 construction kits of UK prototypes (including a kit of the Rovers Return) offered as  " genuine scale models using REAL BRICKS and TILES"  Although we do not want to  discourage anyone from offering model building products the illustrations on the  website do appear to show grossly oversized bricks and tiles producing a  caricature effect which is not particularly to our taste.       http://www.gibsonsgames.co.uk/builder.shtml"

Dolls House Emporium
{If you are reading this at DollsHouse emporium we would love to have an  image of one of your houses to show MB readers} A major UK Dolls House retailer offering "Over 25 beautiful dollhouses and dollhouse kits .... online. Mini-Mansions

Two links which raise more questions than answers.  There appear to have been a series of paper building kits produced by Roy & Jacqueline Killeen ( around 1970) under the name of mini-mansions.  If you know more about this series of models please email
editor@miniaturebuilder.com , especially if you know enough to prepare an article for publication  The illustrated example comes from a tribute site to California worthy John Muir

The second is a link to a second-hand bookseller site ( but since these obviously change from time to time we have captured the details )

Oakridge Hobbies  /  Scale Miniatures

Oakridge Hobbies  (aka Scale Miniatures) is a huge American modelling and toy online shop.  We have no idea what they are like to deal with  ( any info to  editor@MiniatureBuilder.co.uk   - or whether it is worth it for UK customers - but the listings on the site of architectural components in a whole range of scales are extensive and worth a look just to get an idea of what is available.     The illustrated figures are O scale (1/4") from Arttista.

Friedland Miniature Victorian Jewish Mansion

The Friedland site claims its Miniature Victorian Jewish Mansion may be the first known miniature Victorian Jewish Mansion exhibit.  The interest is really in the interior furnishing and detail which takes it outside the primary interest of Miniature Building.   The site modestly claims it as a "this spare-no-detail Jewish educational tool . Craftspeople from around the world used the finest materials to create its furniture and accessories. Inlaid floors, ceiling moldings, a central tower and dozens of architectural details help make it a masterpiece."

Jojay's Miniatures
i

Jojay's is a dolls house materials supplier based in Bourton-on-the Water,  Gloucestershire, offering some lines not always available elsewhere.  In particular they stock the Phoenix range of White metal miniatures - mostly outside the scope of The Miniature Builder but some of their kitchen ranges and fireplaces (1/12, 1/24 and 1/32 just fit inside our brief.  Illustrated is a fibre glass based Wall tile cladding from their 1/12th range ( They don't make clear if this is their own product or from another manufacturer - a habit you may have noticed elsewhere that The Miniature Builder is seeking to discourage ).   www.jojays.co.uk
